The Medina County Chapter of CARE was formed in October 2008, following the Lorain County Chapter's formation in May 2008. CARE was founded by members from other rescue groups in the area who recognized the need for more specialized and specific services to those who live in our community.
With the guidance and approval from the local EMA and the American Red Cross, we have instituted a plan for animal rescue and handling during local disasters, which include fires, floods, hazardous spills and evacuations.
Our goal is to have an active, reliable and competent organization that is dedicated to the well-being of animals involved in disasters in Medina County. All of our members are trained in accordance with FEMA and Red Cross guidlines and are dedicated to the welfare of all animals.
