Like Lorain and Medina counties, Summit County CARE has been formed by members from other rescue organizations that saw a need for an active group of reliable and certified responders. Summit County CARE is currently in the process of obtaining contracts with the Summit County EMA and the American Red Cross of Summit and Portage Counties. Our members are dedicated to the welfare of all animals in a disaster, and are ready to assist at any disaster incident in our community.

Join the Summit County CARE Team
CARE is always in need of new responders, and while animal or rescue experience is helpful, all individuals are welcome to join. We also welcome resources from anyone who can provide housing, medical care or transportation for animals. Please contact us if you are interested in becoming a certified responder with Summit County CARE.
